Cedar is a high-quality, versatile and robust wood species without knots. It is quite hardy and highly resistant to weathering, rot, insects and fungus. As well as being lightweight, cedar is low in density and requires minimal maintenance.

Cedar has a reddish glow that patinates beautifully over time to a muted silver colour. It is also possible to pre-patinate all wooden lamellae in advance so that they patinate evenly before installation.

That's why cedar is an ideal choice for a quality and maintenance-free Facade cladding.

Cedar is a good choice for facades as it has a minimum durability of 25-30 years and a very high dimensional stability. It does not need to be heat treated, but is quite strong and resilient in its natural form. The only requirement is fire impregnation, and Nordisk Profil's cedar facade system meets system fire class B-s2,d0.
